I find this site amusing.

Phobos and Deimos are two crows that watch over and protect Princess Mars and her crystal. They both have human forms and are aliens from the planet Coronis. The names Phobos and Deimos are rooted to the word fear (Phobos as in phobic, and Deimos is the latin word for fear).

|
Deimos is not Latin. It is a Greek word that means fear. Phobos can also mean fear. Some Latin words that mean fear are timor and terror.
|

Phobos and Deimos are also the names of two gods, Phobos Apollon and Deimos son of Ares.

|
Phobos and phoibos (phoebus) do not mean the same thing in ancient Greek. Phoibos means bright. It is one of Apollo's titles. Moreover, in English, Apollo's name is spelled Apollo. Apollon is the transliteration of the Greek letters that are used to write his name.
According to some stories, Phobos and Deimos are both the sons of Ares.
30 October 2002:

28 October 2002:
The Bish jo Senshi S r M n S Movie Etymology section is ready! All three movie articles can be found here.
25 October 2002:
It has come to my attention that the October 2002 edition of Sailormoon.org's MoonGram newsletter contains passages that obviously came from my "Sailor Chanel & Sailor Gucci" explanation section. I do not see my name mentioned at all in that MoonGram. These are the passages in question:
|

Naruru and Ruruna's surnames should be discussed. We learn in the manga that Naruru is Naru's younger sister! Naturally, they have the same surname. Their surname is written with the same kanji that are used to write the name of the Japanese city Osaka. Ruruna's surname, Kobe, is written with the same kanji that are used to write the name of the Japanese city Kobe.
...
They are big fans in the two fictional brand names Channel and Guccicci. People wonder whether Channel and Guccicci should really be Chanel and Gucci, but Ms. Takeuchi explicitly wrote Channel and Guccicci in Roman letters and in katakana characters. She probably altered the real names in order to eschew unwanted legal difficulties. Besides, the names Chanel and Channel do not sound alike. The "ch" in Chanel sounds like the "sh" in ship, but the "ch" in Channel sounds like the "ch" in chip. The katakana characters that are used to approximate the two names reflect the difference in pronunciation: Chanel and Channel.

It would have been nice if the writer (Chibiaurelia) credited me.

There is a new main page! I hope you all like that surprise! Hotaru is cute! Her outfit looks nice! Someone gave me that image a long time ago, but I cannot remember the name of the artist. If you are the artist of that image, please tell me so that I can give you the proper credit. Thank you!
I have another surprise! My List of Magical Powers in Bish jo Senshi S r M n and K don mu wa S r V includes many of the special powers from those continuities. The names of the special powers that are from the Bish jo Senshi S r M n video games can be found in this list. Additionally, this list also includes many of the names of the special powers from the K don mu wa S r V story. If there are any mistakes in the list, they will be fixed.
Happy birthday, Risa-chan!

11 September 2002:
I fixed some things in The Name of Sailor Lethe’s Maneuver article. The information should be more accurate now. The Sailor Soldiers and Related Characters: Name Lists article will be ready on 12 September 2002.
6 September 2002:
There is now a section for people's comments on my Debunking Common Misconceptions article.

27 August 2002:
I like Hotaru and Samus so much that I made these two desktop wallpapers!
Hotaru Tomoe Desktop Wallpaper and Samus Aran Desktop Wallpaper.
24 August 2002:
Most Bish jo Senshi S r M n Web sites contain sections that display the personal information of the main characters. Unfortunately, the owners of those Web sites copy their information from other sources. Sometimes it is difficult to determine what information is accurate. The information in my Character Profiles: Japanese and English comes straight from the Japanese-language anime and manga sources. Notice that the profiles are intentionally concise.
23 August 2002:
I updated Aurorean's link. The character profile section will be ready tomorrow!
19 August 2002:
I have been transcribing and translating the sailor soldier profiles from the anime and manga sources. When I am finished with those profiles, I shall display them in a new section. Those profiles will not be like what is seen on most Bish jo Senshi S r M n Web sites. My profiles section will contain the original Japanese script and English translations! The information will come from the Nakayoshi Anime Albums and the Bish jo Senshi S r M n manga volumes. Visitors will soon know what information is canonical and what information is apocryphal.
17 August 2002:
There is some more material in the Sailor Starlights and the Hindu Trimurti article.
14 August 2002:
Before I knew about Hotaru and Bish jo Senshi S r M n, I was a fan of the bounty hunter Samus Aran from the Metroid game series. Now, while Hotaru is my favorite anime character, Samus is my favorite video game character. The Metroid: Etymology and Misconceptions article explains the origins of some of the names that appear in the Metroid games. It also debunks some of the common misconceptions about the games.
10 August 2002:
Several fans have associated the three members of the Sailor Starlights (Sailor Star Fighter, Sailor Star Healer, and Sailor Star Maker) with the three members of the Hindu Trimurti (Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva). The Sailor Starlights and the Hindu Trimurti article shows why one may be skeptical of the apparent connections.
7 August 2002:
The Sailor Starlights and the Hindu Trimurti article will be posted on 10 August 2002, and the Metroid: Etymology and Misconceptions article will be posted on 14 August 2002.
4 August 2002:
The Magic Knight Rayearth Term List is ready!
3 August 2002:
There are few places online that attempt to explain many of the names of the characters who appear only in the Bish jo Senshi S r M n Musicals, or Sera Myu. The Sailor Myu Etymology article shows the origins of many of those names.
Another Bish jo Senshi S r M n article will be completed soon. The article will be about the Sailor Starlights and their apparent connections with several Hindu deities.
Tomorrow I shall post a list that shows the origins of many of the names from the anime series Magic Knight Rayearth. Moreover, an article about some of the misconceptions and translation errors in the Metroid video game series will be posted in the near future. Some visitors may wonder why I am working on projects that are not directly related to Bish jo Senshi S r M n. The Magic Knight Rayearth name list and the Metroid article will have much to do with etymology. Both projects will deal with the Japanese language, and they should give Bish jo Senshi S r M n fans a better understanding of the language.
30 July 2002:
The Sera Myu name article will be completed on 3 August 2002.
25 July 2002:
A list of some of the older updates can be found on another HTML document.

The new Hotaru bikini pictures will be posted soon!
