Picking Apart a “Switched” Web Site
This section shows a Web site that promotes the idea that Ms. Takeuchi “switched” the mythological and astrological themes of Sailor Saturn and Sailor Pluto. My comments on those Web sites are also included.

From My Theories on the Sailormoon Story line:

Theory:
I believe that Setsuna was Hotaru's mother in the time of the Silver Millennium.
Support:
Sailorpluto and Sailorsaturn seem to have the tributes of their planets mixed between them.

Even if the attributes of their planets were mixed between them (and they are not), how does one then conclude that Setsuna was Hotaru’s mother? Coming to such a conclusion using those premises is a leap in logic.

Pluto is the Planet of death

Who has called Pluto the “Planet of death”?

Saturn is the Senshi of Death

Sailor Saturn is never called the “Senshi of Death” in the anime and manga continuities of Bish jo Senshi S r M n.

Saturn the planet of time (the god Chronos)

Who has called Saturn the “planet of time”? Saturn was not always associated with chronos, the Greek word for time.

Pluto is the senshi of Time (even using Chronos Typhoon as an attack in the manga).

In the anime and manga, she also performs her Dead Scream maneuver, which has nothing to do with time.

Pluto is the smallest planet

Pluto is the smallest planet in our Solar System.

Saturn is the smallest senshi

Actually, Sailor Chibi Moon is smaller than Sailor Saturn is. Hotaru may be smaller than Chibi Usa when she is a baby, but she never becomes Sailor Saturn as a baby.

Saturn is the largest of the outer planets*

Jupiter is the largest of the outer planets, but Saturn is the second smallest of that group.

Pluto the tallest of the outer senshi

Sailor Uranus is actually taller than Sailor Pluto is.

Saturn has rings around it

The planets Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune all have rings.

Pluto's attack has a ring like Neptune and Uranus**

There is no indication that there are rings around their projectiles because there are rings around their planets. The planet Pluto has no rings.

Pluto has no ring

Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars do not have rings, either.

Saturn's attacks have no rings

Is there anything that indicates that her maneuvers should involve rings? The planet Jupiter has rings, but Sailor Jupiter does not perform maneuvers that involve ringed spheres.

Uranus, Neptune and Saturn are gas Giants**

The planet Jupiter is a gas giant, too.

However Pluto is grouped as a triad with the other two instead of Saturn

Who said that had anything to do with the fact that Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto are gas giants?

Ok so I have proved that their attributes are mixed.

You have not done such a thing. Much of the information that you use is erroneous.

Not specifically but it does lend to the theory because a Mother and Daughter would have mixed attributes such as these more so than sisters, couples, or other relatives. and most importantly just friends.

Where is the evidence for that claim?

Sailorpluto's job has been to guard time for over a thousand years. It is considered a lonely and barren job. Pluto is a small planet drifting alone and barren in space.

There is also the fact that Sailor Pluto, not Sailor Saturn, is the only sailor soldier in the manga who has the title Guardian of the Underworld.

Also these are the only two senshi who have their attributes mixed together.

You state that as a fact, but you have not shown why it is a fact.

Naoko took in-depth time and care to make sure all the senshi had the proper attributes of their respective planets. I would find it hard to believe this was done by mistake.

Is taking “in-depth time and care to make sure all the senshi had the
proper attributes of their respective planets” a mistake?

Jupiter is actually considered an "outer planet" however Naoko chose to include it as the inner part

Since when did she do such a thing? Moreover, there is nothing in the anime and manga that indicates that the planet Jupiter is part of the inner Solar System. Simply because some of the guardians of Princess Serenity represent inner planets does not mean that all of the guardians of the princess represent inner planets.
The term “Inner Senshi” is fan-created! A fan will never find anything like “Inner Senshi” in the Japanese anime and manga! There is a difference between what fans claim and what Ms. Takeuchi said.

Again Jupiter also has a ring around it but she is part of the inner senshi and I am only comparing the outer senshi since they are to some extent separate teams.

“Outer Senshi” is a fan-created term. Ms. Takeuchi called Sailor
Uranus, Sailor Neptune, and Sailor Pluto soldiers of the outer Solar System,
but that says nothing about whether the planet Jupiter is an outer planet
or not.

While the motherly nature also implies maturity it is entirely possible that it is in fact motherly.

It is entirely possible, but being possible is not enough to say that it is true.

It is interesting to note though that Jupiter. Saturn and Uranus were related Gods.

Neptune was related to all three of them, too. He was a brother of Jupiter, a son of Saturn, and a grandson of Uranus.
