Papillote
[ Papyotto, Papiyotto]

The Papillotes are those wrapped-up pieces of candy that become Bonbon Babies.  Poupelin controls the blue Bonbon Babies, Banane controls the orange ones, and Orangeat controls the red ones.  Perle can use his flute to stop Poupelin’s Bonbon Babies from attacking, but he does not make them attack the sailor soldiers.  When the fairies throw the Papillotes, they say “Papillote.”  The Papillotes become Bonbon Babies after the fairies play a certain tune on their pipes.  In the Materials Collection, Ms. Takeuchi described the Papillotes as “colorful candy balls.”

A papillote is really a heavy, greased or oiled paper in which food, especially meat or fish, is wrapped, cooked and served.  The term also refers to an ornamental curled paper put over the end of the bone of a chop or cutlet.  It is pronounced something like “pah-pee-yoht.”  The Bishjo Senshi Sr Mn SuperS Movie Memorial Album shows the katakana-characters combination papiyotto, which approximates papillote papyotto is a variation of papiyotto that Ms. Takeuchi used in the Materials Collection.
