The Dahlians are the slithering and snickering flower monsters that appear from the pink flowers on Fiore’s asteroid. Sailor Moon and the other four sailor soldiers attack the Dahlians, but more of those evil flowers appear and replace the destroyed monsters. The Dahlians next to Fiore begin to disappear when Fiore takes the first steps in getting out of Xenian’s control. All of the Dahlians disappear after Mamoru attacks Fiore with the red rose.
Darian most likely came from 
Daria, one of the ways to approximate the genus name Dahlia. (
Dariya is another way to approximate the genus name.) A dahlia is a plant of the genus Dahlia that is native to the mountains of Mexico, Central America, and Colombia. Dahlias have tuberous roots and showy, rayed, variously colored flower heads. These plants get their name from the Swedish botanist Andrew Dahl.
