Live Action Sailor Moon update (Azama Myuu Interview)

That rod is like half the height of her body

We're around even on Turkey day! I've got for you the Takeuchi interview with Azama Myuu from the "Princess Room" part of the Sailor Moon channel site.

Actor interviews!

Sailor Jupiter - Kino Makoto's actress, Azama Myuu-chan

Q1. What's your cell phone's melody?

Azama: Road of Major's "Bokura Dake no Uta." ["Our Song" - the one I made available to you a few weeks ago in the same article as the interview with Shibue Jyoji..] When mail comes it plays "Hoshi ni Onegai wo." ["Wish upon a star."]

Q2. If you've got a nickname that they call you on the set, could you please tell me?

Azama: I've got a lot of them. Azama-kun, Azama-chan, Mako-chan, Makoto, Myuu-chan, Myuu. [How are those nicknames?] The one I like the most, well, that'd probably be the simple "Myuu," you know.

Q3. When you heard you would be Sailor Jupiter, what were you thinking at the time?

Azama: Makoto's a character who's really true to herself so I was kind of nervous, wondering if I'd be able to play her.

Q4. What did it feel like when you first put on Jupiter's costume?

Azama: [I thought it was] tacky!! (The color, the shape, etc.)

Q5. In what ways are you like Kino Makoto, and in what ways do you differ?

Azama: The way we're alike is...

while she's thinking Kitagawa Keiko inserts: "You're very gentle and girlish!"

The way we're different is... well a lot of of ways. We're almost completely different I think.

Q7. What were your impressions when you first went to the set? When you first met the staff?

Azama: I was really, really tense when I went to the set so I was a bit nervous... but the first time I appeared in a scene I didn't speak any lines. Everyone on the staff is very gentle.

Q8. What are the difficult things when you're taping? What are the fun things?

Azama: The difficult things are... I'm still not used to the Sailor Senshi clothes and hairpiece. They're really tight and rigid. The fun parts are... when I get to wear all sorts of different clothes and uniforms. That's a lot of fun!

Q8. What kind of person is Takeuchi-sensei? In one word, please!

In Japan TV watches you!

Azama: The first time I met her was when I was being measured for my costume. I received a lot of gently-put advice from her. [She says this using very formal speech.] Later, when they had decided upon Mako-chan's uniform, I got to speak to her about various subjects in depth, and I was really happy about that.

Q9. Have you read the manga and/or seen the anime? Are there any scenes that stick out in your mind?

Azama: I've been watching the anime from way back! What left the biggest impression was in the final arc [of Classic, I'm assuming] when the Sailor Senshi are all defeated and Usagi has to do her best by herself.

Q10. When you first saw pictures of yourself in your costume in magazines and posters, what was your thought?

Azama: The wig piece is far more natural than I had been thinking it was... (laughs)

Q11. In the future what would you like to improve on?

Azama: I guess that'd have to be to be able to act in a more boyish manner.

Q12. Are the five Sailor senshi friends? Which one of them seems to have become the leader?

Azama: Yes! Of course! The leader is... well of course that'd have to be Miyuu-chan (Sawai).

Thank you for speaking to us after another extremely tiring day of shooting!

And I thank her for very terse and easy to translate answers! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
