SM Song Writer Arrested

According to this article a man named Araki Shouki, who composed the Sailor Star Song among others, has been arrested for charges related to drug possession. He was caught holding a small amount of "hallucinogenic" drugs. He explained that they were "for my own use," which I assume means he was not intending to sell them. Interesting that the headlines stresses that he was a songwriter for the Sailor Moon anime, but that was almost a decade ago.

Thanks Jon Mays for the heads up on this. Just to point out, drug possession in Japan is taken more seriously than in Western countries, particularly marijuana which is very illegal here.

I, for one, hope we can look forward to more exciting arrests in the future, such as Araki Kae for embezzlement and Kikawada Masaya for running a turtle brothel.

In other news I've been trying to find Takeuchi's picture book without much luck, I've been looking in the children's book section of bookstores expecting to see it displayed prominently but not seeing it displayed at all. I may end up ordering it over Amazon JP.

Btw, I just wanted to clarify- in the Nov. 2nd article the person in the picture is yosenex, not me.
