"hay
look behind u, hama chisaki just drove another all-you-can-eat buffet into bankrupcy" lol
she fell for it. |
The episode 7 preview is up at the official
Live Action Sailor Moon page and via the powers of the eternal recurrence
it lands on this site as well. In addition, the Han Keiko interview from the "Princess
Room" part of the Sailor
Moon channel site was gruelingly translated. Emphasis on the grueling part
because its a cool word to type.
As exchange student Kino Makoto transformed into Sailor Jupiter, the four Sailor Senshi
at last became assembled. All that's supposed to be left is combining their powers to find the princess and legendary silver
crystal. After doing so their mission will be complete. But there's still the curiosity of who the mysterious senshi, Sailor V, really is. Could she be the princess?
Meanwhile, Usagi is absent minded as always. Before doing anything else, she wants to find out the
identity of Tuxedo Mask. But these words of Sailor V, "You are not allowed to go near him and that's
final" cast a dark shadow over the budding love that Usagi has toward him.
Is it really as she suggests, that he's a possible enemy of theirs...?
While lost in thought over these matters, Usagi heads to the Karaoke box "Crown" where the store's manager, Furuhata Motoko, is wearing Tuxedo Mask's clothing! Is he Tuxedo Mask?! Usagi becomes
conscious of [this possibility of] Motoki [being him.] To that end, Usagi goes with Rei and Makoto on a group date with Motoki and his friends. But when
Usagi and company arrive at the appointed location, they find that among the friends of Motoki is he who is Usagi's rival [they literally write the person who is the dog to the monkey, or in our terms,
the dog to the cat]- Chiba Mamoru!
Actor Interviews!
Luna's voice actress, Han Keiko
Q1. What's your cell phone's melody?
Han: Misia's "Everything." When I receive mail, though, it plays a voice from a Bandai series. Gundam's "Char" speaks.
Q2. What do you think your masterwork has been?
Han: Of course that would be being Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon's Luna. After that, Lala in Gundam and Saori in Saint
Seiya.
Q3. I'd like to thank you for remaining as Luna for so long, in both the anime and this live action series. First, could you please tell us about your thoughts when you were picked to be Luna for the anime. During those days, how did you want the part to be played?
Han: Even though Luna's a cat character, she doesn't speak in cat language (like nyan or nyahihihi), and even though the work was to play the voice of a cat, I really did her as a human. That was okay, right Takeuchi-sensei? After the very first recording session the person who played Usagi-chan (Seiyuu: Mitsuishi Kotono) was so new to the work and so nervous- thinking about this makes me feel as though I'm thinking of a completely other
person- so I helped her out and guided her. It was almost like the relationship between Sailor Moon and Luna, at least
that's how I felt. I can't help but think our meeting as actresses seems to have been decided by fate.

I
am so not jealous of Shibue Jyoji right now. |
Q4. How do you see yourself as playing the part of Luna in the live action series.
Han: When we were doing the recording session for episode one, due to my work schedule, I was only able to arrive at the studio at 1pm. The day before, Usagi's actress Sawai Miyu had been there
until late, doing very intensive photo shoots, and then went to school [that tired] and came back to the studio at noon that day. When the recording session was finished, even though we had different routes home, we walked together for a while.
It felt then as though what I was feeling at that moment, and the feeling I had long ago [during the anime series]
were the same. I'd like to help out and guide this Usagi-chan as well.
In the case of the anime, I had this "older sister"-type feeling with Mitsuishi-san but with this series now I feel almost like a mother, you know. (laughs) Although, when we did the anime recordings in the beginning we were always doing them together, and in the case of the live action series, I'm doing them alone. In that regard there's such a huge difference between what I was doing in the anime and what I'm doing now with the live action series. If at all possible I'd like to act along with everyone else too!!
Q5. Having played the part of Luna perfectly, what are the difficult parts and the enjoyable parts, if any?
Han: The difficult part is not being able to record along with the rest of the Sailor Senshi. The fun part is that all of the Sailor senshi are sooo cute! And of course the fact that I'm able to participate in both the anime and the live action series, its incredible. The manga became an anime, and now its become a live action series. But even though we call it a "live action" series its more like a series set in the "real world" [she means that you see actual people and so there's a feeling like they're the real sailor senshi]. For that reason, whenever I'm with the live action Usagi, I feel like I'm really with the genuine article Usagi.
Q6. Having seen the live action series, explain your thoughts on it in one word.
Han: I woke up at 7am to watch it. It was very interesting! "Beautiful!" And very "fresh."
[Don't forget very "Lovely" and "Stage out!"ish.]
Q7. For you personally, Han-san, what place in your heart do the anime and the live action editions of Sailor Moon have?
Han: When I was doing the anime I felt as though I was being rushed, like Usagi and I had been "running through the gates" together. For this live action series, its somewhat of a more composed situation and we've got time.
But with the anime, with each performance, we knew what the "end result"
would be [I believe she means that not all the animation and filming is set at
the same time with the live action series, since it takes a while for the
parts of the episodes to be assembled, while the animation was already
completed by the time the Seiyuu would record for the anime] so we could perform calmly. Although at first I did it a little too calmly and I kind of came off as being a character like Usagi's mother. The director said to me, "Since the nuance of your character is that you are working with Usagi-chan to resolve the incidents and mysteries, you need to make her tighter with Usagi." Indeed,
with this series I had to re-realize that I shouldn't start off as I had done at the very beginning [of the
anime, in this manner]. Because Luna isn't supposed to be Usagi's mother, she's supposed to be like Usagi's friend... right Takeuchi sensei!?
Q8. Have you read the manga? If so can you describe your impressions in one word?
Han: Hmm, to say it in one word, the manga is "Serious"! That's how I
see it, at least. You know, when I was performing Luna in the anime I was always thinking "Would it be better if I did this in the manga Luna's image" or "Would it be better if I play the anime with an original bent to my performance?"
Q9. What kind of person is Takeuchi-sensei? In one word, please!
Han: How about she's always a person who "Lives like she's reading ahead of the future."
[I think? Second opinions welcome] And she's also someone who's "Soft" and
"Sensitive."
Q10. If there's a character among the works you've done who's left an impression on you, please tell us. Also, please tell us what kind of work and character you'd like to play in your next role.
Han: The character who's left an impression on me would be Youko of "Azumi Mamma Mia." She's a fortune teller and I kind of think she's a lot like
Kishida
Kyoko-san [a famous fortune teller], she was a lot of fun. After that, probably sweet Yurika from "Goldfish Warning!" Characters like "Takapi" [from Goldfish
Warning] are a lot of fun. The kind I'd like to try... well the world we live in, its tempo is very rushed and its a very busy place, right? So I'd like to be in the kind of
series where the tempo is nice and slow. Something which really gets at the "truth" of the universe and where at the conclusion
of the show the lesson that's learned by the children and the people is that "all you have in the end is love." That's the kind of work I'd like to appear in. Something that really reaches deep into my heart. (laughs)
[And Sailor Moon didn't have that message? In all five seasons?]
Takeuchi: Thank you very much
