Live Action Sailor Moon

"See
you again... for fifty bucks, sailor." |
The
Toei
page has updated with its preview of the upcoming "Special Act." This
confirms what we said last week, which is that their big announcement is the
contents of this DVD, and not a film or new television series.
Top left:
There's just one week left until Usagi and Mamoru's wedding.
It's been several years since that last battle. And just now, a new enemy
has...! Yet the 5 girls can't transform, and are at their wit's end.
Facing their last battle, the five of them are...
Top right is the caption of a variety of pictures:
"We're getting married!!"
by Usagi
Text below those pictures:
Although the broadcast has concluded, "Sailor Moon" won't end!"
This original Video/DVD release is a present for all of you who love "Sailor
Moon."
This story takes place several years after the TV show. With each of the
girls having gone their own ways, the five of them don't get to see each
other often. In the midst of this, Usagi and Mamoru's love has grown
steadily, and the two of them are finally tying the knot! [The Toei page
writes "Goal in!"]
Yet with Usagi saying stuff like "Stop the wedding!" and Mio-chan claiming
"I'm going to take the Earth for myself!" it's going to be a heck of a time.
Both the earth and their wedding are in crisis. Our Usagi has to take
on double the challenge- will she have to break up with Mamoru again?!
Box below:
In the planning stages this story was labeled as the "Final Act
[Temporary]." We worked on it eagerly, planning for this to be the "Real
final act!"
"That" Character and "That" item will finally make their appearance.
Countless youma swoop down on the girls, who can't transform. What of the
Shitenno who've bared their fangs to Usagi and Mamoru? Ami and the others
who are on a trip abroad?
It's planned to be 60 minutes from start to finish.
Box with the various pictures of Maihara:
Supervisor Maihara - Life's Many Phases
Our Supervisor Maihara was doing this earlier:
"Wonder if I can do it?" "I'm doing it!" "This is it, keep going!"
Finally he shows his manly pose: "OK!"
At the film shoot places we called the people who were "running wildly with
Metaria's powers" as "M-something-something." So for example, the youma in
Acts 41-46 were "M youma" and Mamoru in Act 48 was "M Endymion." And so
Maihara's nickname became "Supervisor M." Our love and conviction toward
"Sailor Moon" has been something no one could stop, not even with the power
of the Ginzuishou!
Below with the girls speaking:
With the series itself coming to an end, the cast, staff, and all
those involved got together and held a "We're all done!" party. This Final
Act party saw around 300 people attend, it was truly a grand affair!
Although the party had passed, there was still some "Sailor Moon" left to
film.
It may be the first time someone's said, "Our next film shoot is..." at a
series completion party, but that's just part of Sailor Moon's unusual
nature. The days ahead for the show will be the most difficult of all. Not
only will Usagi and the others be battling their crises, but the Cast and
Staff also have to deal with the hectic-ness of the release!
We didn't have many pictures last week of cast in their "final take" moments
but that was because a bunch of them hadn't actually finished filming yet.
Box with wacky pictures below:
That manly pose you see the supervisor doing is something that's going to
gradually come out from the rest of the work as well. [I think he/she means
that things will be coming together slowly over the next few weeks on the
production side.] I think we'll be updating this page a whole lot more until
the release is out.
After the broadcast of the show concluded we received a ton of warm
messages! [We saw] just how many people were touched by "Sailor Moon." And I'm really
moved to be able to be the first to announce information on this new
episode.
The last box:
A naive comment
If Tsukino Usagi gets married to Chiba Mamoru, will her name become "Chiba
Usagi"...? Chiba Usagi... in other words... "Chibausa"?
This has nothing to do with the Special Act, I just thought it was
interesting.
I actually like that joke. Finally I have found some respect for the
Toei page!
This being said, we interpret the Toei page as implying that this is the
last of the live action series. It's over after this.
