8/20/05
The photo book release date and event are getting closer and I'm excited.
Recently, on a whim, my friends and I went to the beach and lit some fireworks.
It was the first handheld fireworks I've done this year. I felt healed by the
beautiful beach and fireworks. And today I went for a massage, so my mind and
body both felt completely refreshed. I rolled up my hair on my own. What do you
think?

Yesterday "UP to Boy" went on sale, have you all seen it? I haven't
checked it out yet but I'm going to head to the book store right now. Please let
me hear your thoughts on it.
And, by the way, I am... can it be... in Iwate right now! (laughs) I received a
sudden summer vacation (laughs) and came back. I met some of my old friends for
the first time in a while, and am in high spirits. I'm having Korean BBQ,
viewing fireworks, going bowling, doing karaoke... It's just a short break but I
have tons of fun so I wanted to go back and get genki.
I came back without warning and everyone got together on just a moment's notice,
they're such great friends. Thank you everyone.
And finally, tomorrow is the day my "Summer Date" photo book gets released. I'm
so excited. I want to see it right away.

Is everyone alright after that typhoon?!?! I got back yesterday and the
thunder in Iwate was incredible. I was just hanging about at a friend's house
and out of no-where there was an earthquake, I was scared. But to be back in
Iwate after a while, I was really satisfied. With my female friends I did hand
fireworks, bowling, billiards, stupid things at my friend's house, took some
PURIKURA [small photos], talked a lot and felt relieved and then fell asleep at
a family restaurant... when I'm with my friends and family I feel really happy.
My photo book has been released. I saw "Summer Date" for the first time
yesterday. I'm just really happy to be able to do my own collection of
photographs. Have you all seen it yet?!
8/27/05
Yesterday I quietly signed copies of my photobook. One by one I signed
them, putting my heart into it. I want to send these to you all as fast as I
can. (laughs) After signing books, I went again to get a massage. I think you'll
meet a well-refreshed Komatsu-san at tomorrow's event, so be sure to come!

I want to thank everyone who came to yesterday's
event. I was worried about whether people would come but there really were a lot
of people there so I'm really, really grateful. It was my first event in a while
so at the start I was quite nervous. But I met some old familiar faces, I was
really happy and it was a lot of fun. I was also happy at the people who had
come from far away and all those new people I was able to meet.
The date for the new calendar and DVD have already been decided so I'm hoping to
see you all again at another event. Since so many people came yesterday and I
was so happy about that, I woke up early today and went shopping with a friend!!
(laughs)
From tonight I'm going to start putting together my out fits but what
combination I'm going to use I'm keeping secret.
To her credit, as I've pointed out before, she's an excellent saleswoman. She
cleverly weaves product propaganda with personal anecdotes. She keeps up at the
"have you seen it" or "have you bought it" line without fail, never mentions
boys so all the males will think they still have a chance, and does lots of fun
girlish things to be the perfect genki girl, so I too can be genki as my brain
turns to mush translating her writing.
