Live Action Sailor Moon update (Full Preview for Act 47)

Stupid gravity.

The HICBC preview is now ready. Also the complete Toei preview for Act 47 is here. It's quite long, and don't miss the Operation Replay just added as well. First HICBC:

Venus finally finds success in awakening her senshi powers and defeating the youma. And she decides to be operated on.

Her friends the senshi, believing the operation will work out fine, plan a party. With a smiling face Minako heads toward the operation's inspection...

to her doom! (joking. joking. maybe?)

Toei top left:

Even though the odds are slim, Minako decides she's going to do the operation.

And so that day comes a calling.

Top right box:

The five of them beat the strongest youma; Naru, Motoki, and the other victims have returned to normal and the town's peace has been restored. Notably, Minako has come to the decision to live her life as "Aino Minako" as well. While all the pieces of the puzzle seem to be fitting together there are some worrisome details, almost as if someone splattered droplets on a white sheet.

Among those details, of course we're very curious about Mamoru, and there's that issue with Usagi where she thinks her friends are running away from her, to the point where she can't bring herself to even go to Crown.

Ami also starts to realize something. "That is to say, Usagi could.... turn into Metallia!"

Box with Endy:

With their past and present lives crossing paths, Minako and company are each finding their own response to their situation.

There are just 3 episodes left to the end of the series and we'll finally be finding the answer to some last burning questions. The Moon Princess's answer, the Earth King's answer, and the answer to the riddle of this live action Sailor Moon series.

Box with the camera men. The left says Kamiaka Camera man, the right says Matsumura Camera man:

I don't have an HICBC picture to put up here so instead I'll just have this youma inform you that you shouldn't do crack or you'll end up like him.

Clash! 2 leaders. From Act 46

Acts 45 and 46 became the recital contest of dreams with two major camera men entering their pieces. For the action-packed chain of events, when Minako was running around indoors, that was camera man Kamiaka, and when Sailor Moon was waiting outdoors, that was camera man Matsumura.

While the subject of their photography and their direction techniques were the same, but to see how each's filming methology differed is something you really need to get experience with [lit: take into your hand] to understand!

Box below has the lovely Princess Sailor Moon looking happy as always. The picture text says "A passerby":

Shinagawa Again -- From Act 46

The outdoors action scenes were filed at Shinagawa Intercity.

When you film at an office park you've got to do it on the weekends. When we requested this place, we ended up having no choice but to do it during a regular weekday afternoon.

There was such a huge crowd, but whenever the camera started turning, the nice people moved out of the way. Thank you for your cooperation!

The business people passing by said,

"Heey, it's a Sailor Moon film shoot!"
"Who do you like? I like Sailor ---"
"Oh in my case it's ---. She's so cuuute!"

They talked about it like it was an everyday occurrence.

We've been broadcasting for almost an entire year and to find out that the series had become so enmeshed was a completely new feeling to us.

It's been a quick year since first filming began on Acts 1 and 2 on August 17th of last year. Act 2's action scenes were also filmed right here in Shinagawa Intercity, so it was a memorable place. We were in such a nostalgic mood... we couldn't keep ourselves composed there. Filming for the last act, 49, has already begun.

Box below with the youma. I took a bit of creative license with the translation here. But only to amuse myself.

Stupidity Part 1

Although the youma usually say things like "durrr" and "buhhh" one actually spoke in Acts 45/46 thanks to Metaria's powers.

"The planet's... destruction..."

This voice actually belongs to one Sawai-san. Maybe there's a deeper meaning to it, maybe there ain't.

Before they did the dubbing, the following conversation ensued:

Supervisor: "You'll do the youma's voice too okay?"
Sawai: "You bet your sweet ass I will."

Protip: punching yourself in the face is the best form of therapy.

And then the voice recording was done.

Sawai: "I'm outta here. (begins to leave)"
Supervisor: "Hey what about the youma's voice?"
"Sawai: "eh some other time"
Supervisor: "Do it bitch"
Sawai: "nuts to you"

She thought he was joking.

Putting in some oomf, she tackled the youma's voice. "It's my first time." duh.

Box below that:

Stupidity Part 2

While Supervisor Maihara growled a tad at Komatsu's special skills, supervisor Takamaru was really taken aback by them in Act 46.

Going back for a bit, in Act 36, all five girls had to stay overnight at the filming place in Tochigi prefecture. While staying there they blossomed into conversation on the subject of the series. They ended up having a competition to see who could cry the fastest when the topic of "tear acting" came up. Rumour had it that Ami would take the crown. The winner ended up being Komatsu, who pulled it off in a flash.

That the Sailor Moon cast was a group of acting geniuses is common knowledge, but we on the staff still get amazed to see what they can pull off even now in the second part of the series' production.

Last note:

The cut off date for applications for the Shogakukan video, "Super Dance Lesson," has passed. We've already surpassed the number of expected applications by 5 times! We're really sorry on the delays because of this. All I can do is to defer to the production team's statement that "We're currently making more."
