"LUNCH TIME."

This intro was getting way too big before. Thus I will simply bow my head humbly and thank Hoshiko and Kenji this week for preparing this synopsis of Act 41 of the live action series.

Wait, I know how to do it.

THANK YOU!

Act 41

Usagi narrates the recap, "The Illusionary Silver Crystal I hold is gradually making Queen Metalia's power stronger, and it seems its influence on the Earth, too, is appearing." The power radiating from Sailor Moon shakes the earth and Mamoru shouts at her, "Stop your power! You have to stop it!" On her knees, she tearfully pleads, "Stop! Please!"

Throughout the night, a mournful, eerie presence echoes and permeates through the city. In Metalia's chamber, Beryl turns. "Queen Metalia is..." Just then, a red light emanated throughout the cave, forcing Beryl to look away. With her eyes adjusted, she looks up again warily.

---- OP ----

Usagi and Ami walk from school, report cards in hand. Usagi sighs. "'Try a little harder!' it says, but I did my best..." Turning to Ami, she asks brightly, "Ami, how did you do?" Ami looks embarassed. "The same as always, I gue-" She's interrupted when Usagi plucks her report card out of her hands. "Show me!" Usagi opens Ami's report card to see the highest marks. "Wow! Awesome! That's our Ami! I've got to do my best, too!" A teacher walking behind them speaks up. "Oh, Tsukino!" He shuffles up to them. "Don't worry! I can give you extra lessons any time!" "Thank you!" says Usagi, turning away as Mr. Katou's attention is called away by another girl. "I hate extra lessons..." Usagi confesses. "Hey, hey, hey!" Naru runs up between the two girls. "The homework for summer vacation, what should we do for that volunteer work? I have no idea what to do," she says. "Me neither!" chimes Usagi.

---

Motoki tosses food into Kamekichi's tank. "Kamekichi! Where should we go together on my summer vacation? Should we go to your hometown? Then where?" Next to him, Nephrite is growling as he runs by, angrily mopping the floor. "Nephkichi!" scolds Motoki, "Don't put so much force into it!" "Stop calling me that!" yells Nephrite. "I-I got it," Motoki replies, a little cowed by Nephrite's outburst. "I'll think of something else." Nephrite turns, gives a start and quickly runs away towards the rooms. "Hey, wait!" says Motoki, running to grab him by the arm. "Where are you going?" "Let me go!" "You're not done yet!" A couple of cheerful voices interrupts them. "Hello!" Usagi and Ami both greet. "Welcome!" responds Motoki, who then slaps Nephrite's back. "You say 'Welcome' too!" he tells him. "Is he a new part time employee?" asks Usagi. "Yeah!" nods Motoki, "His name is..." He turns back to Nephrite, who quickly turns away. "Um...Nephrin!" Motoki announces. That brings Nephrite's head quickly spinning back around to fix Motoki with a glare. Usagi chokes back her laughter. "Nephrin?!" she repeats, sharing an amused glance with Ami. "Don't laugh!" whispers Ami. Nephrite becomes furious. He throws down the mop and grabs Motoki by the front of his apron. "You bastard!" he roars, forcing him back onto the counter, "Not just once, but twice!" "No good?" asks Motoki. "No good?! Of course not!" Makoto comes walking in then and sees Nephrite abusing Motoki. "Hold it!" she cries and rushes in to flip Nephrite onto the floor. Usagi and Ami look on in surprise while both the men are writhing on the floor. "What is it?" asks Makoto, "A robbery?!" "Mako-chan! No!" cries Usagi, "He's a part-time worker." "Part-time?" repeats Makoto. Nephrite picks himself off the floor and goes running towards the rooms. "Mako-chan!" says Motoki as he begins to rise to his feet, "Welcome!" "Motoki, I'm sorry!" apologizes Makoto. "I'm fine! I'm fine!" insists Motoki. "He doesn't mean any harm," he tells them, looking at the fleeing form of Nephrite, "but it seems he's all alone and angry." Ami gazes off at the door to the room Nephrite ducked into. "I'm sorry!" apologizes Makoto, "Are you okay?" Motoki stops examing his elbow and lowers his arm. "Yeah! Thank you for helping me." Usagi watches the exchange and a smile blooms on her face.

Rei sits on her purple chair in the hideout. Behind her, Luna in her girl form prances about while looking at the CD case for Minako's new song, which is playing in the boombox on the table. Rei is recalling her last encounter with Minako. "We have a mission!" says Minako emotionally, "You still don't understand the weight of our mission!" "Rei!" Usagi's voice interrupts Rei's thoughts, "I wanted to consult you about something, but... Oh! It's Minako's new song!" Luna hands over the CD case. "Isn't it good?!" gushes Usagi, to which Luna nods. "But, it's unusual for Rei to listen to this," says Makoto. She goes over behind Rei and teases her, "Did you awaken to it when you did Mars Reiko?" "That's not it," Rei replies and quickly turns off the music. "Is something about Minako worrying you?" asks Ami. "Not really. It's just that she's too concerned over the Past," she replies. "Concerned, you say?" asks Luna, "It's because she can clearly remember the memories of the Past." "Isn't that good?" comments Makoto. "Our being here, it was all decided from the Past. The Past is precious," she tells Rei, who remembers what Makoto said as Sailor Jupiter. "Being alone, listening to the wind, it was all decided by the Past. That's why it's okay for me to be alone." Rei gazes off into space, lost in her thoughts. "Hmm? What is it?" asks Makoto. "It's nothing really," Rei turns to Usagi, changing the subject, "Anyway, what was it you wanted to consult me about?" "Oh yeah! I wanted to ask you if there's any volunteer work we can do," says Usagi. "Volunteer work?" "It's the homework for our summer vacation," explains Ami.

NO MORE COSTUMES. PLEASE.

At the Juuban Children's Center, a young woman yells loudly over the noise of children playing. "Okay, everyone! Today some big sisters from the middle school came to play with us! Hey, Shouta! Don't go bug hunting inside the room! Everyone! Think of them as new friends you've made and play hard with them today!" Usagi, Ami, Naru, and Makoto are standing in aprons at the front of the room. "Nice to meet you!" they say.

With Usagi in a pink rabbit suit and Ami in a blue penguin suit, the two say cheerfully. "Okay!" they say together. "Whoever's going to draw with your big sisters," says Usagi, "Those people-" "Those people!" echoes Ami. "Come this way!" Usagi finishes. They run over to a circle of little kids and sit down. A big pile of paper lies in the center of the circle.

Two of the center's workers walk outside while at the other side of the room, Makoto dressed in a turtle outfit and Naru in a leopard outfit crawl on all fours. There are children perched on their backs. "To the Dragon King's Palace, here we go!" announces Makoto. On her back, Shouta seems to have fun, his bug next waving in his hands. "Kino-san," says Naru, "seeing you in school, I thought you seemed difficult to approach, but you're really quite kind." "Really?" replies Makoto. "It suits you," says Naru.

"Huh?" asks Ami, "Motoki and Mako-chan?" Usagi nods. "Yup. Just as I thought, those two have a good feeling. Before it didn't go well probably just because of timing." "I'm happy if that's true," says Ami. "That's why we're going to start them off!" Usagi says happily and then leans in to whisper her plans to a nodding Ami.

---

"Huh?!" exclaims Motoki, "A new type of turtle?" Kamekichi croaks in his tanks. "Yeah," nods Ami, "I heard it's in the back of the Children's Center." "Really?" says Motoki, a dreamy looks coming into his eyes. Snapping out of it, he runs from behind the counter, passing Nephrite who's furiously mopping and dusting at the same time. "Nephrin! I'm going to leave this to you for a bit!" "Don't call me that name!" shouts Nephrite. "Now! Now!" soothes Motoki, running off and coming back with an explorer's hat on his head and a net and the rest of the outfit in his hand. "Nephkichi! I'm leaving it to you, okay!" "Didn't I tell you not to call me that!" Nephrite shouts to Motoki, who's already left. He slams the feather duster down in anger, knocking objects to the floor. He throws the mop down as well. Ami bends over and starts to pick up the fallen items. "Don't mind me," he says, and again in a much louder voice, "I said don't mind me!" Ami puts all the items back on the counter. "Umm..." Gently, she takes the feather duster from him. "I think it would be better if you used one at a time." She puts the duster down, takes the mop from him and starts to mop. Nephrite looks at her and has a flashback of Dark Mercury throwing his mended cape to him and telling him, "You being alone like that...somehow, I don't like it." Shaking himself out of his reverie, he mutters angrily to himself, "I'm unsightly." He runs off, tripping on the bucket of mop water on the way. Ami watches him run away in confusion.

---

"Laundry! Laundry! How fun!" sings Usagi. Setting her basket full of laundry down in front of the washer, she pops up and waves to Makoto. "Well then, I'll leave the rest to you!" She then skips away happily, her bunny tail bobbing behind her. "Usagi!" Makoto shouts after her, "Do you mean to make me do it by myself?! Does she?" She starts to throw laundry into the washer. "Usagi!" she yells again, though she sounds a bit resigned. Turning back to the washer, her eye is caught by some strange movement on the street. It's Motoki, in full explorer get up and crouching along peering through a pair of binoculars. She walks over to him, basket in her hand. Turning, he looks up and spots her through the binoculars. "Motoki?" she asks. "Huh?" he lowers his binoculars and rises to his feet. "Mako-chan?!" "What's wrong?" she asks. "Nothing. Ami said that there's a new type of turtle," he explains. "A new type of turtle?" repeats Makoto and at the same time, they both look at her outfit and laugh. Makoto does a little twirl. "I'm volunteering a little for homework for school," she explains. "Oh, is that so?!" he asks, "How tough, huh, with so much laundry to do!" In the background, Usagi watches from a doorway and cheers them on. "That's it! That's it!" she says, "Then, because Motoki is nice..." Her head whips the the left and she drops her voice in an imitation of Motoki (sort of), "'Shall I help?'" Her head whips the other way and becomes girly, "'Oh, no! I'm fine!' 'No, I'll help!' 'It's too much of a trouble!' 'I'm good at laundry, too!'" she switches back to herself, "something like that..." Looking back at the two she sees bidding Makoto farewell. "Well then, good luck with your volunteer work!" he says. "What?!" Usagi exclaims. "Bye!" Motoki waves and leaves. "Bye!" Makoto walks back to the washer and Usagi bursts out from her spot. "Why?!" she asks, "When you two were finally alone?!" "Usagi?" Makoto asks, puzzled, then gets angry in realization, "You didn't!" Usagi looks chagrined.

---

The eerie presence still moans throughout the city. Luna looks outside the window in Usagi's room. "I feel it!" she says, "A terrible presence...is growing stronger."

--- CM Break 1: Buy the Princess Harp and you, too, can wreak havoc on your unsuspecting friends! ---

Makoto and Usagi are hanging the laundry out to dry. "Just as I thought, Mako-chan, you and Motoki suit each other!" insists Usagi. "Don't decide selfishly," Makoto responds coolly. "Even Ami supports me! We're worried about your saying that it was okay for you to be alone." Usagi plucks another piece of clothing from the basket. "But that's something decided from the Past. I felt much better knowing that," explains Makoto. "Is that the only reason you won't date Motoki?" asks Usagi. "It's because I don't particularly like Motoki that way," replies Makoto. "Besides, Motoki doesn't think much of me any more." Usagi shakes her head vehemently. "No, you're thinking about each other. In this kind of thing, I've got more experience than you!" she says cheerfully. "There's no way," insists Makoto. "There is a way!" Usagi replies, "Mako-chan, you shouldn't think that it's okay for you to be alone!" Makoto pauses thoughtfully.

---

"Turtle Mako-chan," Motoki says to himself outloud, "she was so cute!" He turns to look back towards the Children's Center. "Volunteering at the Children's Center, what a great person!" Swinging his next around, he continues on his merry way. A woman in front of him is walking her bike when suddenly, she topples to the ground. Motoki drops his things and runs to her side. "Um, are you okay? Hey!"

---

Remember that scene in Billy Madison where the kid peed his pants?
Yeah. That was a funny movie. It had a penguin!

Naru runs outside. "Usagi!" she shouts, "Come! It's terrible!" She grabs Usagi by the arm. The girls run into the main room of the center. "What happened?!" asks usagi. "They just came back from shopping and then suddenly..." the two workers are all collapsed, "I called the ambulence, but the children are getting out of hand." "Everyone, sit down!" yells Makoto. "Are you okay? Are you okay?!" Usagi asks one of the collapsed workers, but with no response. Makoto finishes a head count of the children. "One is missing!" she says. Naru and Usagi gasp. "Shouta isn't here. I'm going to look for him!" Makoto quickly runs off. "I'll look later, too!" Usagi yells after her.

Running down the street, Makoto shouts Shouta's name. She turns the corner and freezes, seeing a commotion cause by trying to carry several collapsed people to the sidewalk. One of the people helping is Motoki. "Motoki?!" calls Mako, running over to him. "Mako-chan," he replies without his usual cheer. "Did something happen?" she asks. "I don't know," he says, standing, "but it's almost like all of their souls are gone." They both look at the collapsed people uneasily. "Mako-chan, what about you?" he asks. "One of the children went missing!" she tells him. "Huh?"

"Hey!" shouts Motoki, running behind Makoto, who calls out Shouta's name. They're making their way through a park. "I'm sorry, making you come with me," she apologizes, heading down a stairway towards the river. "It's not a problem," he replies, "I hope he didn't go down to the river..." They make their way down the river, calling out for Shouta. They search and search and finally, Makoto pauses. "Wait a second." There's a child crying nearby. "Can't you hear that?" Makoto turns, trying to pinpoint the source when Motoki calls out. "Mako-chan!" Makoto looks towards where he's pointing. "Shouta!" They run and look up a large tree. "Shouta!" "Are you okay?" asks Motoki. Shouta is clutching a thick branch. "The beetle..." he cries and then starts to wail. "Wait!" calls Motoki, "I'm coming to save you!" He starts to climb. "Shouta!" calls Makoto. "Be careful!" she urges. Motoki says something muffled to Shouta and works on trying to get him down. "Shouta! It'll be okay!" Makoto reassures him from the ground, "It's not scary!" "You can trust me," soothes Motoki, "Your leg..." He moves Shouta's leg over the branch. "Hang on tight!" calls Makoto. "Can you move your hand here?" Motoki asks, still trying to pry him off the branch. "Okay! It's okay!" Just then, Motoki's foot slips and the two fall to the ground. Motoki breaks Shouta's fall. "Are you okay?!" asks Makoto, running to them.

Usagi and Naru are in an amusement park, shouting for Shouta. "Where did he go?" asks Usagi. "Hey, Usagi!" Naru says, bringing her attention to the people collapsing before them. "What's the meaning of this?" asks Usagi. "It's the same as the people at the Children's Center," observes Naru. Usagi's phone rings. "Hello, Mako-chan? You found him?"

Makoto nods. "Yeah, it seems he's not hurt." Motoki is ruffling up Shouta's hair. "I saw it, too," Makoto says, "people in the same state. I think you should be careful." Motoki hoists Shouta onto his shoulders and walks around. They sing "The Hare and the Tortoise." "Hello, turtle, Mr. Turtle. In all the world, there's no one who walks as slowly as you. Why are you that slow?" Makoto looks on. "Well then, later," she tells Usagi, hanging up her phone and watching Motoki and Shouta. Motoki notices her and sets Shouta down. "Mako-chan, shall we go back?" She nods and he starts to walk away. "Wait!" she urges and pulls her handkerchief from her apron pocket. She walks up to him and tenderly wipes his face. Motoki beams. "Thank you!" "That song just now," she tells him, "my father sang it for me before." "Really?" She nods. "Could it be...he's a turtle lover!" he asks with glee. "I don't think so," she says. "You're probably right." They laugh. Motoki walks a head a few steps. "This is no good!" he says, "It's seems like I have some expectations." Makoto recalls Usagi's words. "Mako-chan, you shouldn't think that it's okay for you to be alone!" Just then, a familiar moaning sound is heard and a handful of the cloaked youma make their way towards them. Motoki shields Shouta and Makoto stands ready. More of the same youma jump in front of Usagi and Naru. Naru screams and hides behind Usagi. "What are they?" she asks, backing away, "What? What? What? What?" Usagi looks back and forth between the youma and Naru. "What should I do?" she thinks to herself, "I'm with Naru, so I can't transform!" "NO! No!!" Naru screams as another youma pops up near her and she runs and clutches Usagi.

Makoto is in similar despair. "If I transform now," she thinks, "in front of Motoki..." "Mako-chan!" Motoki tells her, "Take him and run away!" with a cry, Motoki bravely leaps towards the youma. Makoto looks at Shouta and pulls him away, behind some greenery. "Hide here!" she tells him, "Motoki!" Motoki's not doing too well against the youma. Suitably trounced, he falls to the ground in pain. "Motoki!" cries Makoto.

"Usagi! Stop eating so many beans."
"I am so sorry Naru. I will try to refrain from passing gas in the future per your instructions."
"Oh Usagi you so crazy."

The youma circle Naru and Usagi. "Naru," says Usagi, "I'm going to change a little, but don't be surprised, okay!" She runs forward before Naru has time to ask any questions and transforms right before her eyes. "Moon Prism Power, Make Up!" Naru looks at Sailor Moon in shock, falling back a step. "Moon Tiara Boomerang!" The boomerang goes flying about. Naru follows its path and then gawks at Sailor Moon. "Usagi!" Moon runs off to continue fighting the youma.

Makoto steps forward, and with one last worried glance towards the injured Motoki, decides. "Jupiter Power, Make Up!" Motoki pushes himself upright and looks at her in shock. "Mako-chan...!"

--- CM Break 2: Buy the Princess Harp, we said! ---

Jupiter takes on the youma skillfully, dodging their attacks and knocking them down. Flipping back, she raises her hands to the sky and charges up for a super powered attack while Motoki looks on, still in shock. "Supreme Thunder!" Having defeated the youma, she turns and faces Motoki. "Motoki," she starts hesitantly, "I..." "I was surprised," he says, "It's like you're a hero of justice or something...is that right?" A tiny smile creeps into his expression. "It's not like that," she replies, "But now I...I have to go and fight enemies like the ones just now. That's why..." Motoki smiles in understanding and nods, "Yeah. That's true. Isn't it?" He smiles awkwardly. Jupiter gazes at him with a sad expression and then turns and runs away. The smile fades from Motoki's face.

Sailor Moon brings Naru into one of the rides. "Naru, stay here!" she urges. Naru seems to want to follow her as she runs off to fight the youma, but stops. Sailor Moon flips into the fray and gracefully takes on the youma, kicking them to the ground. "Moon Healing Escalation!" Her attack hits the youma, who turn into goo that quickly amasses into one stronger youma. Naru ducks back into her hiding spot. Sailor Moon looks in Naru's direction, worried, but the distraction give the youma time to attack. Moon dodges and falls to the ground. "Usagi!" cries Naru. Getting to her feet, Moon gathers herself and attacks the approaching youma. "Moon Twilight Flash!" The attack glances off of the youma. It gestures and attacks her back. Sailor Moon is knocked back by the explosions. "It's too strong!" she despairs. The youma makes its way towards her. "What should I do?" With a glance towards Naru, she runs, dodging another explosion. The youma runs and leaps ahead of her. Its sword becomes firey and with a swing, the ground around her blossoms into fire. Sailor Moon is knocked to the ground. "What should I do?" she repeats, "I'll be killed!" She gasps as a bright light starts to shine from her chest. "The Illusionary Silver Crystal..." Naru runs up behind her. "Stop your power!" echo Mamoru's words, "You have to stop it!" Sailor Moon clutches her hands to her chest and gets to her feet. the youma picks this time to attack, and the girls scream and things explode and fall down around them. Regaining her concentration, Moon tries desperately one more time to control the power, but the distraction was too much. A cold look comes over her face.

"Usagi!" cries Jupiter, running towards her. The youma attacks forcing Jupiter to halt. The light around Sailor Moon glows brightly and when it fades, Princess Sailor Moon is standing in her place. Jupiter's face is lined with worry. "She changed again?" asks Naru, puzzled. Princess Sailor Moon raises her sword to the sky and slowly lowers it out in front of her. "Once again," she intones, "this planet is on the path to destruction!" She brings her sword back to her ear and waits. The youma attacks and Princess Sailor Moon deflect the attacks with waves of her sword. Forming the star-inscribed barrier, she absorbs the attack and reflect it back at the youma. Everything behind the youma goes up in a huge explosion. The youma itself tumbles to the ground and Princess Sailor Moon marches her way towards it, sword outstretched in front of her. Jupiter watches in despair. "No way!" says Naru, "Usagi...what's happened?

---

In his chambers in the Dark Kingdom, Mamoru's head snaps up. "Usagi!" he says worriedly.

---

Laziest game of tag ever!

Princess Sailor Moon continues her slow march. "Usagi!" cries Jupiter, "Stop it, Usagi!" The youma attack again, and once more Princess Sailor Moon, deflect the attacks carelessly behind her. One of them hits Naru, who falls to the ground with a cry. Princess Sailor Moon raises her sword again, but something stops her. She jerks and lowers her sword. The youma seizes this opportunity to escape. Princess Sailor Moon glows and plain Usagi reemerges. "Usagi..." Jupiter says in relief. Usagi is disoriented, her eyes surveying her surroundings, then suddenly, she looks back at Naru, who's on the ground, clutching her wrist in pain. "Naru!" Usagi calls, running to her side, "Hang in there! Naru!" With horror, Usagi turns her eyes to the destruction around her. There's fire everywhere and several cars now blazing infernos. Jupiter kneels at her side and takes her by the shoulders. "Usagi!" "Mako-chan!" whispers Usagi, "This is...this is...the power that will destroy the planet." Her eyes shine with unshed tears.

--- Act 42 Preview:

Princess Sailor Moon stands ready. Usagi, face red, slips into her bath with a sigh. "Keep it up!" Mamoru says, "Restrain your power."

The ground explodes around Sailor Moon. Naru says, "It'll be okay. I believe in you." Usagi is at the bedside of an unconscious Naru. Usagi, bundled up in winter clothing, collapses in the hideout.

Sailor Mercury and Sailor Luna look up at Princess Sailor Moon, who sits in the air playing her harp. "I always believe in you," says Mamoru. Jadeite drops his hand from Mamoru's chest as Mamoru collapses.

"Calm down," Sailor Moon tells herself, clutching her chest, "I can't use its power!"
