Update - Jay Navok

Live Action Sailor Moon update (Full preview for Act 39)

Taking "declared war" literally.

The HICBC preview and the Toei preview for Act 39.
Facing Sailor Moon, Mamoru- as his previous-existence alter-ego Endymion- drew his sword! With the intention of not repeating the tragedy of their previous life, Endymion declared war upon Usagi. But Usagi's feelings will not change. She will gallantly continue to believe in Mamoru.

Also, in a completely unexpected twist, Aino Minako's office president requests Usagi's mother to become a television reporter!

Now Toei. Read with pics, read with pics!

Top left:

Endymion has declared war on Sailor Moon. Has Mamoru really become her enemy? What could his motivation be?

Meanwhile Mr. Saito, the president (of Aino Minako's office), arrives at the Tsukino house...!

To the right, in the box with the inner senshi gals (minus Mina):

"This planet will not be destroyed!"

Usagi continues to believe in Mamoru's words. Even if he appears in front of her as the enemy, he must surely have some plan in mind! Usagi believes him wholeheartedly but really...?

Bow below that has Mamo-chan and Usako hugging:

Usagi and Mamoru. Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Kamen.
And the Princess and Endymion. As though guided by fate, they meet again many times over.
While their relationship is said to bring about the "planet's destruction," they transcend normal dimensions.

More so than being nostalgic on the past, the look back on these two up until now in act 38 had been about advancing toward the future. [Yeah, okay.] Thinking about it, they've come so far....

At least when The Simpsons does a clip show they hang their heads and apologize for it.

Box below that has Miyuu looking at Sailor Moon (it'd have been cool if they had them sitting back to back near a window, like in the R opening):

Miyuu vs Miyuu

Speaking of Act 38, how about that Miyuu-san vs Miyuu-san interaction!

Usagi and the Princess. Sawai-san played these two people divided perfectly. You'd hear people say, "Who's doing the voice acting?" Even though she's had to play one more role, she seemed fine with it!

In the same box there are two pictures with Princess Sailor Moon sitting in that hole thing and it says:

The princess won't just strum her harp in any old place.
With each Princess scene, Sawai-san's challenge grew!

If only this had a calculator.

Box below that (throw your hands in the air and wave 'em like you just don't care!):

"Curious ties?

Ikuko Mama, Moriwaka Kaori-san, and Saito President Ikeda Narushi-san appeared together in last year's musical, "Cinderella Story." They played the parts of stepmother and older sister. Incidentally, Ikeda-san was the stepmother.

Even before they appeared in Sailor Moon, the two of them were perfect together. Given these ties, there'll be more high-tension than the preview lets on! Will it be an Ikuko and manager special episode?

In Act 39, while at the same time there'll be a major shake-up for Usagi and the earth's future, there'll be an earthquake erupting at the Tsukino household. For your daughter and for this story, there'll be trouble, Ikuko-mama!

Kenji linked me to this for more on Cinderella Story. Below that, the four youma pics:

A Youma Bio

#31 - Space
#32 - Stars
#33 - Flowers
#39 - Snow

The motif for Act 39's youma is snow.

"You may say that the season is out of place, but I won't change it!" declares the hand-designer of the four youma, Shinohara-san.
*On location what's referred to as the "mud youma" is also somehow a Shinohara design.

Granting him sticking to this, a part of the scenario was rewritten, but why?

CBC's Okazaki producer comments, "Because they're fighting against the 'moon'."

Yajiuma has generously explained what Okazaki is talking about.

Last box, with the hand-scrawled card:

"The rustling of the bamboo leaves"

July 7th is Tanabata. [The Star Festival.]

When will the two star lovers will be together again?

While considering this, at Toei's Tanabata decoration, this tanzaku [small card for poem; they mean the hand-scrawled card in the picture] was discovered.
Though they say "Write your big dream!", there's a limit to how big dream you can have!

Toei's Sailor Team has huge dreams.

Kenji says, "On this card, it was printed "Write your big dream!", and someone wrote below: 「すべては わらわの もの」"Everything is mine" like some Beryl's lines."

Tanabata info:

The star festival (Tanabata) takes place on July 7. On this day two stars (Altair and Vega) that are usually separated from each other by the milky way, come together.

In the night of July 7, people put little bamboo trees in their garden. They also hang papers with wishes written on it on that tree in the hope they become true.

All done! Thank you Kenji for corrections!!
