Live Action Sailor Moon update (Full preview for Act 36)

THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE

Updated with corrections

Two times the fun with the HICBC preview and the Toei preview for Act 36. First HICBC:

Aino Minako (Sailor Venus) lets Rei in on an important secret. While Rei, having been told such a secret so suddenly, is unable to hide her shock, she doesn't have time to lose her bearings. Their enemies are growing stronger by the minute. As Rei and the rest are staying vigilant, the Dark Kingdom's ruler, Queen Beryl, having desired Endymion since their previous existence, has finally appeared in front of him.

Now Toei. As always I recommend opening up the page to read alongside the pictures. There's also that nifty random pictures thing on the left side.

Top left:

Minako has collapsed!

Effects ripple. The Sailor senshi are, and Usagi and Mamoru are...

Meanwhile, willing to stop at nothing to get Endymion, Queen Beryl kicks off her unbelievable plan.

At that time--

On the right, top:

Thinking she'd change fate Minako threw discretion into the wind but she collapsed. On the other hand, Usagi once again is pushed aside by the cruel waves of fate.

Box below that has two photos, with Zoisite/Artemis, etc.:

Supervisor Suzumura hadn't been back for a while. Now that the preview's over with, let's get a word from the supervisor on it.

"There are a lot o facial close-ups, it seems."

No kidding, mister, haven't you been self-conscious about it? When even supervisor Maihara has said, shooting Rei and Ami's "Ready," "Go!" scene (in Act 34), "(This style of shooting is) Copyrighted by Suzumura-san" (in joke).

Box below that has pictures of the live event:

Backstage at the Minako Live Concert

The Minako Live Concert scene was filmed with thanks to the participation of those attending the "Special Live Event." On the scale of 1,000 people, it was a bit much for something for TV.

And yet, Suzumura Nobuhiro, who filmed last year's movie "Masked Rider 555: Paradise Lost" dealt with 10,000 extras (!) in a super big-event, is a veteran. You associate Suzumura with 10,000 people, and you associate 10,000 people with Suzumura...he is such a man who is even said to be so.

We were afraid that the supervisor might think "Just 1,000 people?"
So we had one idea...

That is, without the audience knowing, suddenly have Minako collapse! With them thinking "What just happened?" it'd be a little more realistic. One camera was aimed at Minako, and four cameras aimed at the audience.

No rehearsal!

Minako suddenly collapses. The audience is in shock. And we staff are running around.

But more than the audience, more than anyone, the person who was the most surprised was none other than Supervisor Suzumura himself.

"Wha- what happened?!"

The supervisor seemed to have thought that who was to check on her would be only Hosokawa Tomozou-san who plays the manager (but actually, many staff also came to check on her). "I was wondering why many of the staff had changed clothes...(So, that was it.)" Even the supervisor was unrehearsed to the point where he he was not expecting certain things.

Box below that has a picture of people standing around:

Actually, the scenario writer Kobayashi-san and supervisor Tasaki from the start had a meeting with all the related staff. While the cast was having their big moment on stage, they'd have a chance to see all the little Sailor Moon fan children's raw reactions! Some are ready-made, some are the passionately home made things...

We were happy to the point of tears, but, though nakonako (cosplayers) would rather be OK, sailor senshi cosplayers at the Minako live concert were impossible (because people in this show don't know that Minako is a senshi so far). We had some countermeasure plans to some degree, but it exceeded all our expectations.

Our hearts beat quickly as we thought, "What would happen!!"

But almost all the people changed their clothes on cue before the filming started. They had taken the trouble to bring a change of clothes!

And so everyone's realistic acting is just as you see on the broadcast. Everyone, thank you very much.

Thank you kenji for all sorts of corrections!!!

Last box. Sailor Moon face profile shot:

A special "last cut" preview.

The dashing new Sailor Senshi. "Princess Sailor Moon." Boasting incredible power she is the strongest Sailor Senshi. Appearing just at the finale segments of quarter three, this heroic character has various meanings. And of course the storyline, as we head toward the conclusion of this section, is at its big turning point. Please look forward to it!

Thanks to yajiuma for corrections on that last part! All done.
