The thirty-first episode synopsis is go! A HUGE, MEGA THANK YOU!! to
Hoshiko and Kenji this week for preparing this synopsis of Act 31 of the live action
series! Thank you thank you!
Act 31
Recap: A slightly sad looking Makoto tells us about the previous acts from a
strange start shaped balloon. "Idol Kuroki Mio transferred to Usagi's
class. She seemed a bit odd, and she did mean things to Usagi, but..." They
show Mio laughing at Usagi while she stands in front of her mad classmates on
stage. Now, they show Mio in tears, dropping to her knees in front of Usagi and
Minako saying "I wanted Usagi all for myself. I like you, Usagi!"
Usagi rushes to her side and helps her to her feet. "Mio! You're so silly!
Don't do that, we're classmates! We're friends!" As Minako looks on in
disbelief, Makoto's balloon pops up again. "One thing led to another, and
it all seems to have worked out. School and Crown are as they always are. But, I
can't be relieved about that." Makoto walks alone down the brick walkway
near Juuban. "I'm the only one who's senshi powers haven't awakened yet.
It's not that I'm impatient, but honestly I think, 'Why is it just me?'"
Makoto stops walking and looks back sadly towards the camera. "why? It's a
a question that I've had inside me for a long time."

Opening: Hitomi wa itsumo jyueru...

Motoki holds up a pair of movie tickets to "Kame Fighter" against
Kamekichi's tank. "It's not animated but live action. Hey," he
consults with a clearly uninterested Kamekichi, "if it's this, I wonder if
Mako-chan will come?" Just then, he looks up, face lighting up, and stands
to excitedly greet Makoto. "Mako-chan! Welcome!" He tries to wave with
his left hand, but it's covered in a cast and is in a sling. Makoto notices this
and asks him, "Motoki, what's wrong?" Motoki looks down at his arm.
"Ah, I did it while moving." "Are you okay?" asks Makoto.
Motoki nods. "Yeah." "Moving? You're moving?" He nods again
and leans forward. "Yeah. It's the first time I'm living alone. But,
suddenly, I've got this, you know," Motoki holds up his injured arm.
"I can't cook well for myself, either. I give up!" Makoto looks at his
arm sympathetically. "I see. Oh!" She suddenly thinks of something.
"Today I'm making curry, so if it's okay, I'll bring it tomorrow."
Motoki leans forward in disbelief. "Is it okay?" "Those kinds of
dishes," says Makoto, "When I make it for myself, it doesn't taste
good, and I always make a lot." "I'll take it!" spits out Motoki,
huge grin on his face. "Then, I'll bring it, okay." Motoki nods
eagerly and waves as Makoto goes into the karaoke hideout. After she leaves,
Motoki pumps his good arm in triumph, and then shows the tickets to Kamekichi
again. "All right!"

Usagi, Ami, and Rei walk into the hideout later and are greeted with an
unusual sight. "What are you doing?" asks Usagi, noticing Makoto
sitting at the table with a huge pile of boiled potatoes in front of her and a
tray with various condiments. Girl Luna sits and puts on makeup, cat shaped
mirror in hand, while Makoto works on a half-eaten potato she has on the end of
her fork. She looks miserably at the others while Luna explains. "Mako-chan
hasn't awoken to her senshi powers yet, so it's special training."
"With potatoes?" asks Rei. "Mako-chan hates them," Luna
explains and then goes back to putting on her lipgloss. Makoto takes a huge gulp
of water. "It's okay if it's in croquette and stuff," she looks at the
huge pile of potatoes, "but like this, when I swallow it feels like it's
stuck in my throat." "Really?" asks Usagi, "They're
good!" She reaches over and takes a little potato and bites it. Ami takes a
potato for herself, too, saying, "I kind of know the feeling." Rei
takes a seat. "But is does that have anything to do with senshi?" she
asks. Luna puts her makeup away. "We don't know what's lacking in Mako-chan
yet, so first, I thought we'd start from conquering all the things she's bad
at." Usagi nods and takes another bite of her potato. "Umm," Ami
sits down, "it's a bit hard to say, but somehow I feel it won't work."
Rei nods. "But, to a senshi's power, the problems of the heart are
big," defends Luna. "Venus said that too, but..." Rei pauses
"I think it's different than likes and dislikes." Luna glares at Rei.
"You think?" "Wait!" Makoto stands up. "Now, I'm
thinking that I'll try anything, and I want to hurry and become the same as you
all." Usagi is touched. "Mako-chan, you're amazing!" She stands
up and goes to Makoto's side. "Eat more!" Makoto sits down, picks up
the fork with the half-eaten potato and holds it up for Usagi to sprinkle salt
on it. Usagi starts to ready another potato to eat, when Makoto starts to choke
on her mouthful. She coughs and hits her chest as Luna and Ami run to her side.
"Mako-chan, are you okay?" asks Usagi. "Water! Water!" cries
Rei, running around the room. "Water?!" repeats Usagi, "Oh! Ami,
transform into Mercury!" Ami nods and holds her hands up.
"Mercury-!" Rei runs up with a glass of water and Makoto drinks it.
"Are you okay?" asks Usagi again.
In the Dark Kingdom, Zoisite is at his piano, playing Moonlight Sonata as we
hear the footsteps of someone approaching. "You've decidied to remember the
Past?" asks Zoisite he stops playing and looks at Nephrite. "Are you
the only one who remembers that Past?" he asks. "Jadeite knows
nothing," replies Zoisite, "However, Kunzite...as he awakened, he
gained back his memories." "I see..." Nephrite holds a hand to
his chin, thoughtful. "If I remember, too, I wonder if Queen Beryl will
ignore me then?" "So it's like that?" scoffs Zoisite,
"Nephrite, your master is not Beryl. It's Master Endymion." Nehprite
steps forward. "I will choose my master for myself." Zoisite drops his
hand, "Fine. If you remember, you'll understand." He starts to play on
his piano. "A long time ago, we Shitennou had the duty of protecting this
planet and this planet's prince, Master." Nephrite closes his eyes as
Zoisite continues.
Minako puts her school bag on her couch and walks over to where Artemis is
sitting on her electric organ. "I received a call from Luna saying that the
awakening of Jupiter's powers isn't going well." "Certainly, it's
late, but, I'm certain she'll awaken," says Minako, "It was for that
reason we came to be born with the [memories of the] Past." Minako looks
towards her window. "Even me."
Usagi walks into her kitchen, saying "Food! Food!" in a sing-song
voice. She reaches the dining table, commenting, "Wow! So many
potatoes!" The phone rings and Usagi's mother goes for the phone.
"Yes! Yes!" She picks it up. "Hello? Ah, Papa!" Usagi turns
around and listens to her mother's side of the conversation. "What? A
business trip, again? I'll complain to the president! I will!" Usagi nods
her head in the background. Ikuko laughs, "Just kidding! Just kidding! I
wasn't serious." Usagi runs over to her mother and speaks over her
shoulder, "Papa! Souvenirs, please!" Shingo, eating at the table,
shouts out, "Brat!" "Shingo says he doesn't need one!" adds
Usagi. "What?!" Shingo puts down his fork and hits Usagi. Usagi and
her brother are talking over each other when Ikuko shouts out, "Be quiet! I
can't hear Papa's voice!"
Makoto is in her apartment cooking curry. She tastes it and gives a nod of
approval. There is a family picture of Makoto with her parents when she was
young in her living room. Makoto leans against the counter.

"EAT
THE SUSPICIOUS BROWN SUBSTANCE THAT IS IN MY HAND IF YOU KNOW WHAT IS
GOOD FOR YOU."

The next day, Motoki is waiting anxiously at Crown, plate ready with rice and
tsukemono and spoon in hand. He leans down to talk to Kamekichi. "Kamekichi,
today I'm going to have a big lead over you. It's homemade curry!" He puts
his plate on the counter and brandishes his spoon. "CURRY!" Quickly,
he puts the spoon behind his back as Makoto walks in. "Good
afternoon," she smiles. "Welcome!" Makoto pulls out a container
with curry in it and hands it to Motoki. "Here! I don't know if it's to
your liking, but..." Motoki takes the container and brings it under his
nose. "Wow! That smells good! Thank you!" Makoto smiles and holds up
her passport. "Well..." She starts to leave, but Motoki stops her.
"Ah! Wait a second!" He pulls out the two Kame Fighter tickets and
presents them to her. "This is...my thanks." "Oh! It's
okay!" she declines, but Motoki presses on. "No no! If you don't, I
won't be satisfied. Okay?" He thrusts the tickets at her.
"Really?" Motoki nods, "Yeah." "Then...thank you."
Makoto reaches out to take both tickets, but she can't get them away from
Motoki's death grip. They tug on them back and forth for a bit before Makoto
makes a questioning sound. Motoki freezes. "Ah! Um...one is..." he
awkwardly points to himself with the thumb of his injured hand. He glances at
his thumb for a second, and Makoto smiles, a bit embarassed. She takes one
ticket and leaves one for him, both of them smiling and laughing nervously.
Motoki starts to fan himself with his ticket and laughs some more.
Inside the hideout, Rei and Ami are doing work at the table, and Makoto is
gazing at the ticket when Usagi rushes in. "Mako-chan! I heard you were
going on a date with Motoki after this!" Rei and Ami look up in surprise.
"No!" denies Makoto, "I gave him some curry, so this is just a
way of saying thank you." Usagi plucks the ticket from Makoto's hand.
"Really? Motoki seemed really happy, you know! The impression I got was
that he definitely likes you!" Makoto grabs the ticket back from Usagi.
"Cut it out, will you?" She sits herself down in a chair, "Just
as I thought, I won't go. Things like that are going to be said, and Motoki will
be bothered, too." Usagi pouts and walks in front of Makoto. "What are
you saying?" She puts her hands on her hips, "Poor Motoki!"
Makoto just turns away from her. "If you go," speaks up Rei, "I
won't say anything." Makoto leans back into her chair. "Your attitude
is saying it." Girl Luna pops in next to Makoto, food in her hands. "Mako-chan!
This is also a senshi's training!" "That has nothing to do with
it," says Makoto. "Wait! Wait!" cries Usagi. She looks over
Makoto. "Hmm, a bit of a cuter look would be good. Ah! That's it!" All
the other watch Usagi as she holds up her Teletia S with a big grin.
Makoto stands up on the stage and flips open Usagi's phone. She presses a
button and tries on different outfits. One is a ruffled violet top over a frilly
skirt. Another is a green sweater over a polka-dotted dress, and another is a
thin white sweater over a longer patterned dress. "Hmm," thinks Usagi,
"Just as I thought, mine doesn't suit Mako-chan, huh?" Luna nods as
Usagi turns around and asks, "What about yours, Rei?" With Rei's
phone, Makoto transforms into a policewoman's uniform, and then a firefighter's
uniform. Makoto looks puzzled at the outfits. "What?" says Usagi,
"You want to look stupid like this?" Rei's smile is replaced with an
annoyed look. "I don't enter oufits that aren't useful," she replies.
Usagi counters with "Booring!" causing Rei to turn her head away,
annoyed. Usagi turns to Ami. "What about yours, Ami?" Makoto changes
into a simple white dress, and then into an odd black and white geometric dress.
Makoto pulls on a string in the center. Everyone looks at Ami, who's smiling.
She looks at them and then nervously laughs. "No reason..." she
explains, forcing more laughter while Rei, Usagi, and Luna give her flat looks.
"That's enough," says Makoto, changing back, "I'll go in my own
clothes. She snaps Ami's phone shut and shoves it at Usagi in passing. Usagi
whines as Makoto leaves, and Luna's jumping up and down, waving her own phone in
the air.

Outside the theatres, Motoki is looking at the posters of Finding Kame and
Kame Fighter side by side. He comments, "Just as I thought, she preferred
it not animated," and turns to see Makoto walking up the stairs. "Mako-chan!"
He waves. "Hurry hurry! It'll start!" Motoki grabs Makoto's hand and
drags her into the theatre. Inside the two have their popcorn and drinks in hand
and are trying to get past people to find a seat. There's three seats free.
Motoki starts to sits in the farthest seat, and seeing this, Makoto sits down
one seat away from him. Motoki sees this before he sits all the way down and
changes his seat to the one next to Makoto. "The center is good, huh,"
he says and drinks his soda, captivated by the movie. Makoto hesitantly munches
on some popcorn and looks at him, remembering what Usagi said. "The
impression I got was that he definitely likes you!" "That can't
be..." Makoto thinks to herself.
After the movie, Motoki looks over at the movie's booklet. "Man! You'd
never think it'd be such an emotional movie like that, huh?" Makoto nods.
Motoki starts to sob loudly, so Makoto offers him her hankerchief. "Thank
you," he says, taking it and wiping his tears. No longer sobbing, he looks
up and says, "Mako-chan, you're really feminine." "Huh?"
"You can knit, you like children, you're good at cooking, and on top of
that, you're kind. You're very ladylike." Makoto doesn't say anything.
"Is something wrong?" he asks. "Uh, no. It's just that no one's
ever said that to me before," she explains. "Really?! I though a woman
who lives by herself was different, but... Hey, you know, when I started to live
by myself, I thought that being with your parents was annoying, but, without
them, you feel like something is missing, huh..." His voice fades as Makoto
seems to lose herself in thought. "Mako-chan, what's your home like?"
Makoto smaps back to reality. "Huh? Oh, my parents died when I was little,
so..." Motoki hastily bows in apology, "I'm sorry!" Makoto
smiles, "It's okay. I'm used to it." Motoki nods and then gulps down
his drink noisily. Makoto hesitates, then starts to get up. "Well,
I'll..." "Huh?" Motoki starts to say something, but then girl
Luna pops her blue-haired head in. "What are you doing?" she demands.
"Luna!" Luna's got a bowl of ice cream in one hand and a spoon in the
other. "Mako-chan, you can't leave like that!" She turns to Motoki.
"You too, Kamekichi, if you don't straighten up, I'll be bothered."
Motoki tries to correct her. "No, I said Kamekichi is..." "Do
this date properly!" commands Luna. "Yes, ma'am," responds
Motoki. Makoto just nods.

CM break: Buy Sailor Moon sandals! They're so stylish!
----
Usagi's on the stage in the hideout, microphone in one hand and Rei's
tambourine in the other. "Eh, so Luna, you made them resume their
date." She goes over to where cat Luna is sitting on the table with Rei and
Ami, who are drinking tea. "Yup. I couldn't leave them like that. That Mako-chan...she
was going to go right home." "How surprising," comments Usagi.
"I thought Mako-chan was strong when it came to love..." Rei says
thoughtfully over her cup of tea, "Probably, being liked and liking someone
are different. Surely." Ami nods in agreement. Usagi says, "Hmm, I
don't really understand, but anyway, we can't leave it at that! Everyone, let's
go cheer them on secretly!"

will gladly give you a wand thing for a donation."

Motoki and Makoto are walking alongside a river. "I'm sorry,"
apologizes Makoto, "Luna's a little strange." "Nah, I was
saved," says Motoki, "because you haven't gone home already."
Makoto doesn't say anything, but continues walking behind him. Motoki stops.
"Mako-chan." He turns around. "Um, if it's okay..." Makoto
spots something behing Motoki. "Oh! That's dangerous!" She grabs an
umbrella that someone apparently tossed aside. "It looked like it was going
to fall," she explains. "Ah! That is dangerous, isn't it," agrees
Motoki, chuckling nervously, though he seems a bit disheartened. Makoto grins
half-heartedly and sets down the umbrella farther away from the shore.
"There, that's better." Motoki tries again. "Hey, you know,
I..." Makoto starts, "Well, I've gotta-" the same time Motoki
says "I'm sorry." She stops talking and Motoki continues. "Please
listen to me for a bit. I've liked you for a long time, ever since you gave me
the muffler, I thought 'How wonderful!'" Makoto looks pained. "I'm
sorry," she says, "I...I'm not that way at all." The smile of
Motoki's face slowly melts away as Makoto goes on. "I'm not feminine, and
I'm good at fighting, and there are kids at school afraid of me." "Mako-chan..."
Makoto turns to face him, "It's not going to work out, I think. You'll be
disappointed. It's better to stop. There's just no way I..." Motoki looks
up, a small smile on his face. "Mako-chan, I understand." Makoto looks
back at him sadly. "Man!" exclaims Motoki, a bit more like his normal
self. He turns away from her. "I give up! It may be the first time I was
turned down so thoroughly." "Motoki..." Motoki faces Makoto.
"But, I'm refreshed now. Well then..." Makoto looks at him sadly as he
turns to leave. He takes a few steps and then stops to say one more thing.
"You know, just as I thought, I still think you're feminine." Makoto
looks like she's going to cry. Motoki smiles at her once more before leaving.
Motoki's walking down the street, muffler off his neck and folded in his
hand. Usagi, Ami, and Rei spot him and rush over to meet him. "Huh?"
asks Usagi, "Motoki! Is your date finished? Where's Mako-chan?" Motoki
forces a laugh, "I got rejected." "What?!" exclaims Usagi.
Ami and Rei look at each other in shock.
Makoto is sitting on the riverbank. "Why?" she asks. As she gets
up, a strange wind stirs the grass. Makoto turns around to see a rock-man type
youma appear out of the ground with four hooded, robed creatures. Moaning, they
start to approach her. Makoto whips out her phone and calls.
"Everyone!"
Usagi, Ami, and Rei nod, put their phones away and start running. In Minako's
apartment, Artemis hangs up the phone and calls out "Minako!" Minako
nods and runs out.
Makoto transforms into Jupiter and gives her speech, "The soldier of
thunder and courage, Sailor Jupiter! In the name of Jupiter, I'll punish
you!" She runs through the robed creatures and targets the rock man,
pushing him over, and then flipping one of the robes creatures when it attacks
her. It goes flying and all the robed ones disappear. Jupiter squares off with
the rock man.
----
Jadeite approaches Beryl in her chamber. "Queen Beryl!" He drops to
a knee when Beryl turns around. "Youma have appeared by themselves and are
attacking in town. Is this something from you, Queen Beryl?"
"No," Beryl replies, "Perhaps Queen Metalia's power is
influencing this planet." "Queen Metalia's power..." repeats
Jadeite. Beryl turns around to look at Metalia's crystals, which are shining
brilliantly.

Jupiter chases the rock man through a wooded area. She starts to attack, and
through her spins and kicks, seems to gain the upper hand. At an opening, she
tries a Supreme Thunder, and at first, it seems like the youma is affected, as
it starts to turn into a blob, but then it morphs back into shape, none the
worse for wear. Jupiter is shocked.
----
Usagi and the others are running down the street when in front of them, the
robed guys appear. "Youma!" exclaims Usagi, "Why are there so
many?" "The feeling is a little different," says Rei, "The
presence of a youma is weak." Cat Luna leaps out from Usagi's bag.
"Anyway, transform!" They all nod and start to transform. Luna
transforms into a girl and then starts her transformation. They transform in
unison, the screen split in four, and once they're done posing, Moon, Mars, and
Mercury start to attack the robed guys, spinning and leaping. Sailor Luna looks
around a bit and then scampers off towards the robed figures. Moon looks like
she's about to attack with her Moonlight Stick, but then the robed creature
melts back into the ground. The others do, too, leaving Sailor Luna swinging her
halisen at nothing and Mars with no target for her tambourine. They all look
around, confused, but no one notices when all four of the robed guys appear
behind Moon. Just before they attack, Mercury cries out, "Usagi! Behind
you!" and right then, some golden stars slam into one of the robed guys,
zapping him. Venus poses with her tambourine outstretched, fingers in a V over
one eye. "Venus!" exclaims Moon. Venus poses again and winks.
----
CM break: Kucchara hapi hapi...
----
Jupiter gets tossed by the rock youma and goes rolling across the leaf
covered ground. "This guy is strong. By myself, I..." She struggles to
get up as the youma approaches menacingly. "I've got to do it by
myself." The youma moves to attack her with its short staff. Jupiter blocks
and gets a kick in, but the youma swings around and clubs the back of her head.
Jupiter blocks again as the youma tries to hit her, but she can't hold up and is
swung to the ground. She backs up against a tree and uses it to scramble to her
knees as the youma approaches again. "Calm down..." she tells herself,
"I'll be okay. I can do it alone, too." She thinks to herself,
"Until now, I..." In a dream-like sequence, her parents walk away from
a young Makoto. Other people, men, women, young, and old, all walk away from
her. "Why?" asks child Makoto. A young man, left hand in a sling,
walks away from her, he glances back, and the voice of older Makoto asks
"Why?" as the boy continues to walk away. Thinking of this, Jupiter
looks up at the trees, waving in the wind. Slowly, she raises her hands on front
of her, and closes her eyes. The youma pauses. Makoto concentrates and the sky
turns dark with clouds. Sailors Moon, Mercury, Mars, and Venus run up in time to
see lightning strike Jupiter and run down her body. Another bolt strikes, and
she glows with a green light. Moon, Mercury, and Mars all cry out Makoto's name.
"Jupiter's power is awakening," says Venus. The two cats run up along
side them. Jupiter opens her eyes and raises her hands to the sky. A lightning
bolt strikes each hand. She quickly crosses and uncrosses her hands in front of
her, glowing with a green light. "Supreme Thunder!" Extra strong green
lightning goes shooting at the youma, destroying it.

One
shockingly refreshing lemon lime.
|
Sky clear now, Jupiter looks at her hands. The other senshi run up to her.
"Mako-chan!" exclaims Sailor Moon. "At last, right Makoto,"
says Mars. "I..." begins Jupiter. "Did something happen?"
asks Luna. "Surely, it's because I was alone," says Jupiter.
"Huh?" ask the others. "I understand," she says. Venus looks
sad. "It's because it was necessary. Being alone, listening to the wind, it
was all decided by the Past. That's why it's okay for me to be alone."
"That's..." speaks up Mercury. "What about us?" asks Moon.
"It doesn't mean I'll part with my companions. I can't say it well, but for
me to be alone has a meaning that's much more different." She looks at
Venus, "Isn't that right? Our present has its reasons in the Past."
Venus looks pensive. "Has its reasons...in the Past..." repeats Sailor
Moon. Jupiter smiles.
----
In the Dark Kingdom, Zoisite is playing his piano when Nephrite slams his
hand down onto the keys. "I can't see anything!" he says. "I
can't remember anything! What about my past life?!" he demands of Zoisite.
"Calm down," Zoisite replies, "That temperament of yours is what
prevents your heart from being freed." Nephrite harrumphs. "Are you
sure this isn't all something you made up?" "Then, meet him. Our
master." Zoisite starts to play the Moonlight Sonata again, and the corner
of the room starts to waver and we can see Mamoru in his apartment in London.
His apartment fades, leaving him in the room with Zoisite and Nephrite. Mamoru
turns around to look at them. Nephrite's eyes widen as he sees Mamoru. Mamoru
looks around, confused. "You are..." starts Nephrite, "Master
Endymion?" They glare at each other and Kunzite strides into the room. He
looks around at them. "What is this meeting?" he asks, looking
sideways at Mamoru. Jadeite appears in the door way, watching everything. The
moon cycle appears as Mamoru looks around cautiously at everyone.

the shower last night. I saw where you were looking Zoisite and that's
NOT cool." |
Act 32 Preview:
Usagi looks up at Mamoru, who is standing over her wearing his Endymion
armor. She examines him carefully. "No way..." she thinks, "It
really is..."
Mio and Usagi are in a car together. "If it's London, there's a way for
you to go," says Mio. Usagi turns around in shock. "What?"
Usagi, hair in a ponytail, encourages herself standing in front of a mirror
in a bathroom. "I'll do my best!" She walks chanting to herself,
"London! London! London!"
Usagi is with a man with a dog in a studio. "Run," he says and
walks away. She nods, "Yes!" and starts running, chanting again
"London! London!"
"You can't go!" an angry Minako tells Usagi.
