UPDATE:
ANN has noted the Lohan interview.
It seems that the
Lohan
rumor continues. Both we and AnimeNewsNetwork
pointed out that
there was nothing in Animage. Keep in mind, though, that that is ALL we have stated, that it was not in Animage. FYI, from
this interview:
The people behind the upcoming big-screen
adaptation of the Japanese manga series "Sailor Moon" have sent her some
materials to look at, she said, and fans have begun lobbying hard for Lohan
to play the titular character, a rail-thin blonde known for her strong
powers and sexy costumes.
"I read that [online] the other day," Lohan said of her supposed
"Sailor" casting. "I haven't read the script; I don't even know if there is
a script. ... I read a lot of things [online] that I don't know about myself
that apparently people think are true."
I'm continuing to take the first paragraph with a grain of salt, as
"people behind" and materials could mean anything.

News of the WoL tour
got picked up
by a big Japanese anime blog site. I'm glad to see this kind of reaction
from Japanese fans. After finding that article I also spotted Japanese fans
talking about the tour in other places. In fact, doing a search on Yokohama
sites today I stumbled upon another Japanese page which talked about the
tour. (Whoever wrote the article mistook the Girl in Red Shoes essay quoted
on the WoL homepage for the one in Yokohama, when it's the one in
Azabu-Juuban.)
Less than two months to go before that commences.
Yesterday I was at the
Toei Studio Gallery in Nerima. I was there to see if it was worth taking
the train all the way out there during the tour, so I didn't think about
taking any video or pictures of it, but what's there is pretty much what you
see in the link. I found it interesting that on the giant timeline they had
scrolling one wall, they wrote that the 1990s was "The era of the female
heroine, Sailor Moon." On the timeline, Sailor Moon was listed as 1992-1996,
and Sailor Stars was considered a "separate" series of 96-97. However, on
another wall, where the had small squares showing different shows, all the
series were there except R.
In another room they had a case of goods and statues/figures of
characters from Toei's various shows. The statues (garage kits) in the case
were the ones shown in one of the first season laserdisc bonus videos, which
I thought was neat. In front of them were another set of smaller figures
which were what was put in front of the people talking during the laserdisc
staff interview bonus for Ami's First Love.
Last, a note on this site. As the years have past, we've evolved into
what is essentially a "Sailor Moon blog." I didn't see it myself until
others referred to the site as that. I figure, why not make that official
and switch to an actual blog system. So at some point this summer, while the
front page will largely stay the same, the inner workings will move to a
blog program like WordPress. The current archives using the first Soapbox
design will become the "old archives" and the new ones will be kept on a
database like a regular blog. The difference you'll notice is that we hope
to have the "comment" button directly on the page, for people who want to
put feedback on articles.
By the way, a lot of people seem surprised when I mention that the forums
have been free to join for nearly a year now. All you need is a rec from one
of the current members, or dash me an e-mail.
