Live Action Sailor Moon update (Episode 29 preview part one)

See no evil.
Hear no evil.
Speak no evil.

Doing the update tonight because for some reason websites don't update themselves, and I couldn't find another sucker to do it for me. FYI, Serecindra's boards for 28 are up.

Plenty of things on the Toei page. The majority of what's below are captions for various pictures there. We won't put up the pictures themselves (check the actual page for those), but I'll try to make it clear which picture corresponds to what. Many thanks to kenji for his help!

First the piece on the left:

Ami is back to normal, and tranquility has returned to them all. Arriving at their school is a new, mysterious exchange student, Kuroki Mio. But she is a rival of Aino Minako, and also...?!

Next, on the right, in the box with the picture of Miyuu in her sports suit in a volleyball pose:

Having transferred to Juuban Middle school is a new idol, Kuroki Mio. Usagi burns with hostility as the girl is "Like Aino Minako's rival!" And finally the two of them enter a volleyball match.

That's in Act 29.

While it may be a bit different from the usual, the volleyball bout will be something to behold! Are we switching to the "Ace wo Nerae!" format?!

They're referring to a drama that kenji says finished airing last month on Japanese television. Ace wo Nerae! or "Aim for the Ace!" is also an anime that ran in the 1970s. Take a look at the drama series' fancy-shmancy website. Kenji also says, "It seems that the support layer of this particular drama overlaps with PGSM's, to a certain extent, since it features very popular idol(s) and is based on popular manga/anime."

Next, in the box with the small picture of the senshi together on the left:

Venus and Artemis watch on. Sailor Moon and her friends will always be one.

Last time, at the end of Act 28.

In the script it was written "they will always be one [they could have been one/together forever]" so supervisor Maihara tried to make it into an image faithfully. But because of the things related to the length of the show, (he couldn't do so, then) we sent off a version in which various irregular changes were included. Next time it will return to normal, don't worry.

Ultra thanks to kenji for help with that one. Below this, the category title is "Making of Act 27 and Act 28."

"Now I can get my job back at the can opening factory!"

For the text with the picture of Moon and Mercury going at it:

The action between Sawai and Chisaki was done without stunt persons. While waving the many-kilogram weapons around, first they meet in the front, then more time in the reverse, and finally the barrier is cleared!

Picture of people with trees:

The two of them wander about the forest. Before shooting, they cleared ivy and other various obstacles, and assistant director Oomine ran around making sure that everything was safe. During acting, as they're running around, they might not be able to see what's underfoot, so it's quite dangerous. So we decided they should avoid the course where he (Oomine) fell down or got hurt.

I like how the assistant director is the guinea pig.

Chisaki with a camera:

Hama-san captures the staff's strenuous efforts.

Music stuff:

Minako's public presentation radio booth. Ranking in on the hit chart is Damestry's "Nyan x Nyan" and Yamoto Shinobu's "Powder one's face." Who are they?

Azama with Artemis:

Assistant supervisor Oomine is the one who helps out in operating the stuffed doll.

But, moving the Artemis held near Azama's chest was somehow accomplished by a female staff member, on behalf of him. Where has the hero who ran through the forest covered in blood gone?

And that's all from the Toei page.

Onto other news. Dosei might be able to get a synopsis done Monday, or he might not. Regardless, he's too busy now to continue writing in the future. Although the Shingetsu crew have been wonderful about filling in for him, we can't let them coddle us anymore. Thus we're on the prowl for a new synopsis writer.

If you're interested, here's the scoop. Working on the assumption that you already know what these synopses look like: you've got to know Japanese, you've got to have the free time to write these (and you've got to be a decent writer) and you've got to be able to get it to us within a few days after the episode airs. If you think you meet those basic requirements, click for the more detailed info page.
