Tokyo Anime Fair 2007,
Site-related notice
I visited the
Tokyo
International Anime Fair today. It was big, bright, and noisy, and I
have photos for you from it.
I zipped over to Toei's booth pretty quickly just to check if there was any
Sailor Moon to be had.
I did manage to spot something, a pamphlet they were giving out:
The pamphlet advertises their new iTunes-like anime download service called
"Toei Anime-BB Premium," where you can buy anime episodes starting at about
a dollar each. (First episode is free.) Among other shows they're offering
the first few Sailor Moon series for download. (Japanese only.)
That was all I could find. But I did spot some other interesting things

As for the site-related notice: I've finished my research in Tokyo, and my
period as a Japanese government scholar has come to a close. I'll be
returning to the USA and won't be able to cover events like doujinshi
parties. If any of our Tokyo readers would like to cover those events for
the site, send me an e-mail and I'll explain when and where to go. (The next
one is in mid-April.)
I visited the Akasaka Hikawa shrine a
few days ago and was greeted by this scene:
They were filming a TV program there, although I wasn't familiar with the
show.
I sat down and watched the shoot, it was pretty laid back and interesting. I
got some video of what the shoot was like,

here. At the very end, a grip spotted me and you can see him motioning
for me to shut off the camera (which I do in a hurry.) Even though it's a
public space, only their cameras are allowed to film.
