Live
Action Sailor Moon update (Episode 20 preview)

There's
clearly a lot of romancing going on. |
The Act 20 preview went up at the official
Live Action Sailor Moon page and I've got that ready for you today.
Recently Rei has been acting secretive, as though she's got something to hide. This is because she happens to know Sailor Venus' true identity, and has been been lost in thought over how to decipher Venus' mysterious actions on her own.
Makoto hasn't taken a liking to Rei's recent behavior. But moreover, she's anxious about the direction in which Usagi and Mamoru's love is heading. Finally, Makoto resolves herself to tell Usagi about Mamoru and his girlfriend's engagement.
At that time, however, Usagi happens to bump into Mamoru while walking and ends up going on a double-date with him. Usagi embraces this glimmer of hope, but fate has something different
in mind for her...
That last part is literally, "the situation turns to a different direction from what she had thought it would be"
The improvisation sounded better.
Below is a map point from our internal database that I thought was
appropriate for this update. While normally I don't mind if you quote our
stuff, with this I'm going to request that you not do so.
Prince Arisugawa Memorial Park (Minami-Azabu 5 chome)
The part of Tokyo where the Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon series takes place
in, the Azabu district of Minato ward, is an area which has a number of parks
and recreational areas. These places are perfect for such a double date. In
the anime and manga, Usagi and Mamoru would often go on dates in a place
called Prince Arisugawa Memorial Park.

Definitely
a must-see series destination if you're ever in Azabu. |
We see this in the anime series rather early on. Ami is waiting near a
fountain located in the park since she doesn't have juku. Given that
out of the best libraries in the country, the Tokyo Metropolitan Library, is
pretty much located on the park grounds, this isn't so surprising! That
fountain becomes a oft-seen sight throughout the rest of the series; one
of the SuperS memorial episodes took place entirely in front of it. (The
non-clips part, that is.)
The park is basically a "sea of green" in the otherwise drab gray
of the city, and so it naturally becomes one of the most convenient places for
dates. It's also said that you can forget time by just sitting there.
And hey, what better place for the Prince of the Earth and Princess of the
Moon to date than a park named after royalty. I'll let Tokyo Historian Paul
Waley fill this part in:
Prince Arisugawa's life was one of dazzling public success-
governor-general of the imperial forces sent to quash Tokugawa resistance in
1868, commander of the imperial troops in 1877 at the time of the Seinan War,
president of the senate, and head of the General Staff Office. For many years
after his arrival in Tokyo, Prince Arisugawa lived in a house here in Azabu
built on what had once been the grounds of the Nambu family, lords of a large
fief in the north of the country. Later the Arisugawa residence was inherited
by the Takamatsu imperial family, and in 1934 it was handed over to the Tokyo
city authorities and turned into a public park.
So it's got an interesting history and a nice setting.
Now you know where to take Sawai Miyuu if you ever meet her somewhere other
than a supermarket in the French pacific.

A "stick insect"? Oh Legolas_the_great, how low
you've fallen. Why I remember when you used to mock them by suggesting that
they couldn't punish a blind Jadeite in an airport.
