Naoko's Room Update 1/1/06 Part 2

Naoko's 1/1 Room update had a second lengthy diary note on the third "Secrets" page among the graphics up top, located here. Translation:

On 12/22/05, at Ritsumeikan University, I gave my first ever lecture! I was received by cute snowmen [see picture on that page] and conducted busybody blacksuited women through a tense hour and a half. (There was a ton of snow in Kyoto!)

The subject was on 'career design' for women. Ahh! I lectured on on various subjects: my school days, my first-job trials, the time I took the national exams, my life as a medical student, my "troubles"(?) [her question mark] as a manga artist, things I've thought about since Sailor Moon ended, the classified episode on the debut of my prince [birth of her child], the classified episode on my time as a new wife (roars with laughter), the technique for standing on top of society (!?) [once again, her marks], etc.

For some reason there were a lot of boys. (laughs) I was surprised! There was Mr. "wears glasses, smiles and nods his head in agreement a lot" and Mr. "always feverishly taking three men's worth of notes," and after that there was also Mrs. "sitting right in the center, fast asleep." It really was something to see! Very interesting!

There were some odd questions like, "How many seconds does it take to draw the sailor senshi?" and "When will you resume [Hunter X Hunter]" (laughs), also, "What is it you like about Togashi-sensei?" (laughs), and everyone asked lots of question on finding a job without a sense of reality (laughs) it was cute!

Those who came got to hear various secrets, so I think they were lucky! It was a lot of fun so I definitely want to do it again. But my husband goes, "It's too big an undertaking. I'd never do it, not even if I died!"

Hahaha! That might be true! But don't you think it'd be interesting to go to a lecture by a manga writer? This was Naoko-princess, who suddenly wants to hear lectures by other writers.

This lady never fails to make me laugh out loud.
